Shakespeare's Greatest Hits 2022 and The King's Players present selected scenes from King Lear and The Taming of The Shrew. Our performances offer a great Shakespeare experience for the newcomer as well as those with great knowledge of The Bard. We look forward to welcoming you to our performances as we celebrate our 22nd year of the program in Woodburn, OR.
The 1 pm show will feature King Lear for one hour, a 15 minute intermission, then The Taming of the Shrew for one hour. The 5 pm showing will follow the same pattern.
Shakespeare’s Greatest Hits (SGH) is a high-quality drama class taught from a Christian worldview, open to students ages 12-18 (with some exceptions). It was created primarily for homeschooled students, but we welcome students from schooled settings. It is an exciting, educational, nine-week course culminating in a performance of selected scenes from two of Shakespeare’s best plays, taught by professional actor/storyteller, Christopher Leebrick. At SGH, expectations are high, and so are the joyful rewards.
